Welcome to the Education Department of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation!
Our department is committed to providing educational services to our community members, whether on or off-reserve. We are here to meet your educational needs from kindergarten to grade twelve students, post-secondary students, and adults looking to improve their employability in the workforce.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe the young generation is the key to a better future for their communities and the world. We firmly believe that they will become future leaders and make valuable contributions to civilization on a global scale.
WE CELEBRATE OUR YOUTH
We are proud of our youth and their accomplishments. We celebrate our young people by acknowledging their efforts and achievements in the education system. For high school students, we provide a student allowance as a recognition that they are doing their best as citizens within the school system.
OUR VOICE
We are committed to ensuring that the voices of our community are heard and represented in all areas of education. Our Education Coordinator sits on the board of the EALEA, which stands for Enhancement Agreement, a working agreement between the school district, the local indigenous community, and the Ministry.
