The Finance Department is responsible for managing the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation’s financial affairs with integrity, transparency, and accountability, in accordance with the Nation’s Financial Policies and Procedures.

Our team provides timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting support, and financial governance to uphold responsible management of community funds and support long‑term financial sustainability.

Welcome to the MMFN Human
Resources Department.

MMFN offers a stimulating and professional working environment,

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

The Finance Department is responsible for managing the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation’s financial affairs with integrity, transparency, and accountability, in accordance with the Nation’s Financial Policies and Procedures. Our team provides timely and accurate financial reporting, budgeting support, and financial governance to uphold responsible management of community funds and support long‑term financial sustainability. The Finance Department is led by Jeff Pascua, Chief Financial Officer, who directly reports to CEO, oversees the Nation’s overall financial management, governance, compliance, and reporting requirements.  The department is supported by an experienced and dedicated team: Jeannine Dick, Payroll & Accounts Receivable Administrator; Laureen Amos, Accounts Payable Specialist; and Alie Crowther, General Accountant.

We oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, including accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and funding administration, while ensuring compliance with internal policies, audits, and federal and provincial funding agreements. The department also plays a key role in providing accounting support to economic development initiatives and monitoring own‑source revenues such as resource agreements, leases, and business enterprises that contribute to community priorities.

Through clear reporting and strong financial stewardship, the Finance Department supports CEO, Chief and Council and Department Managers in making informed decisions that enhance programs, services, and the overall financial health of the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation.

Health & Safety

Welcome to the Department of Health and Safety and Emergency Preparedness. Our dedicated team is responsible for implementing and managing the comprehensive health and safety program for the MMFN and its partners, including the community of Yuquot.

We work collaboratively with external organizations such as WorkSafeBC, FNESS, RCMP, Ambulance and Fire Departments, SRD, Village of Gold River, Mid Island Emergency Radio Communications Team, and NTC to ensure the well-being and safety of our community.

Our department plays a vital role in establishing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures that protect our community members at MMFN and Yuquot. We liaise closely with the community to identify and implement necessary processes that keep everyone safe and secure. Training and orientation programs are available to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills required for health and safety practices and emergency response.

We are proud to be fully compliant with WorkSafeBC processes and regulations, ensuring that all our operations at MMFN and Yuquot meet the highest safety standards. At the Department of Health and Safety and Emergency Preparedness, our top priority is the well-being of our community, and we are committed to creating a safe environment for all.
